Scoring with the SMHS Soccer Team
By Bruin Bailey
As you might have heard, soccer is starting up at San Marcos High School once again. The soccer teams are currently practicing and playing games. There are three different teams at the school; the Varsity, JV, and Freshmen teams. The Varsity team has won one game, lost one game, and drew five games. The JV team has lost three games and drew three games. The Freshmen team has won one game and lost two. If you are interested in playing soccer, go to the SMHS website and click under athletics where there will be a soccer tab. Once you have clicked on that, all of the contact information you need will be there.
The soccer team has either practice, or a game, every school day. Practices are at San Marcos High School or San Marcos Middle School. All the teams consist of different grade levels and the practices are after school for around an hour and a half to two hours. You will need a physical done at the doctors to be eligible to play any sports at school.
If you like soccer and aren’t playing already or you just want to meet new people through a sport, then you should give the school team a try! You will be able to represent your school through this fun sport and celebrate with your team and friends. If you are interested in keeping up with the team or watching their games, the link for all the schedules for the Varsity, JV, and Freshmen teams are on the school website. The link will show the teams statistics, who they have played, who they will play, as well as the score of the games, the roster, and how they are doing compared to other teams in the nation, state, city, and league that they play in.
